Massive fan...but growing up in Northern Ireland at the time it is set probably I'm biased.

Sister Michael is brilliant...but a tip for you go back and watch them and keep an eye out for what Orla does in the background...hilarious

I had been wondering how the show sits with people who lived there during the time it is set.

Sits perfectly well with majority of people and captures the mood and sentiment perfectly. I was a few years older maybe 5 or 6, and the final extended episode was incredibly poignant and powerful...I actually have a signed copy of the Good Friday Agreement by John Hume...but not wanting to get serious...the show is feckin hilarious...and no weak characters...loved the cameo appearance by Liam Neeson..."You're free to go girl's...and for the suffering love of Jesus, take him with you!!" Classic!!

All very relatable and hilarious. People readily identify with the phrases and mannerisms. Hugely popular show

Amazing show, can't believe its finished.

Orla, Clare and Sister George Michael are my favourites but all the cast are awesome.

Absolutely love this show and as my Dad is from Derry and I got married there,it has a massive place in my heart.

It’s difficult to say which of the characters I like the most but Clare I absolutely adore, also Orla, the more dippy the character comes across the more I’d love them.

For those that are interested, there are some great videos on YouTube from the Derry Girls Panel at the Edinburgh TV Festival, including the cast giving a brilliant script read-through in character, and Dylan Llewellyn inadvertently revealing that Saoirse-Monica Jackson has pierced nipples (revealed by an on-set clothing malfunction), much to her embarrassment.

Oh I can't stand this show. Jamie Lee is the only proper Derry actress in the whole show. The rest of them have terrible fake accents.

The humour sits perfectly well because that's how most of us got through dark times.

Most of the characters could actually be people I knew in situations I've witnessed.

That may be why I don't really find it very funny and haven't made it passed the first few episodes.

I don't dislike it and there's nothing offensive in it but I don't get the hype either.

I’ve just read this whole thread with a Northern Irish accent in my head

I would have been a similar age at the time. The music & casting was spot on.
