Hi all. Serious question..I suffer from struggling to maintain a hard on..I have high blood pressure which I take tablets for but feel embarrassed about speaking to my doctor about my problems..I know I could get Viagra over the counter and maybe asking on here will attract scorn for not speaking to my GP. Just not sure which is the right way to go about things..Any advice?..

Speak to your GP before you take anything. I’m sure that viagra is not suitable for those with high blood pressure but you’ll need to get your GP’s advice

Find a new GP you are comfortable talking to?

Honestly mate ED is probably the most researched, most widely advertised issue in the world. Your GP will have heard it all and it's pretty much the one medical condition noone will be shamed for or gaslit about.

Use that male medical privilege to its full advantage and go talk to the GP about your options

I haven't tried anything..I am currently making sure I am satisfying my wife in other ways but feel she is is getting let down by my inability to maintain..we do have penetrative sex but I go soft too quickly before reaching a climax for both of us..it does feel like a failure on my part.and she also feels I am not attracted to her even though I still find her gorgeous after 30 yrs marriage.

If you're able to get one but struggle to maintain then try a cock ring before any medical intervention.

Don’t take viagra without speaking to your GP.

Blood Pressure drugs can cause ED due to reduced blood flow, but I’m no Dr.

I have used pretty much every ED drug available, and a £4 silicone cock ring works best for me.

Your GP will have heard it all before. It's best to talk to them to know that it's safe to take. Cock rings can help too.

ED is absolutely nothing to be ashamed of, most men suffer with it at some point.

As others have said, don't take anything if you haven't spoken to your GP first. Every doctor on the planet has probably treated dozens of cases and will approach it in a professional manner so get an appointment booked.

It really is nothing to be ashamed of. Please speak to your GP as it could be something else that is causing it. Is your prostate a little enlarged or is a lack of testosterone. Best get it checked and GP will in the mean time prescribe you some viagra hopefully.

See a medical professional bc it could be early signs of systemic problems re heart and/or circulation. See your GP so to rule out various health red flags and offer the right treatment. Its nothing to be ashamed of and all of us will have to deal with it at some point. See your Dr and it will be sorted eventually. There's absolute no need to carry this shame. You will be back to hard as wood in no time.

Like everyone had said mate, goto your gp that's what they're there for and they will have heard it many, many times before. They are after all, there to help.

On the other hand I went through super drugs own online gp and got some viagra there. Unfortunately I get a bad side effect of reflux from taking it and I think my problem is more of a mental thing than a physical thing. But good on you for coming on here and asking for advice. Just take the next step now and speak to your gp and good luck.

Please don't take anything without seeing your GP first some of the side effecfs include heart palpations. Not a good combo with hypertension.

I'm not a Dr or a nurse and haven't read all the comments but I'd also ask the GP to check your testosterone levels.

you have taken 1 big step in asking others so asking a gp shouldnt be as difficult than on here.

in type 1 diabetic and last time i was hard was 2012... no lie. tried viagra and nope. tried ciallis and had chest pain. end of 2019 i was asked to try penile injections. 1st one was painless but it got me semi. 2nd was way too painful that i bled and bruised then covid hit. dont remember any of products names.

november last year i started to notice some blood was getting to my dick, so went back to gp and i now have an appointment to see specialist to see if i need a penile implant.

no harm in speaking
