Yeah, a few years back I even saw an old teacher in town and approached him and actually said Mr XYZ. It felt weird calling him by his first name

Teachers yes but family friends or friends parents etc then no, they were called by their first names.

I still talk to my headmaster from primary school, he's still Mr .... I can't use his first name. Loads of us still do it, he laughs at us

Yes, still can't call my friend's parents, who were teachers at our school, by their first name

No. I used to when I was younger but now I’m older and been given permission to use first names then I do. Still see some of my old teachers regularly and call them by their first name now because it’s more weird not to at this point

Absolutely! Either Sir, Miss or Mr. or Mrs. That! Felt weird when I turned 18 and the ball was on the other foot!

No. Never been formal. Maybe it’s my age?

People even get surprised when they find out I call my parents by their first names rather than mum and dad. Have done since I was 14 or so.

Family friends were always aunty and uncle, never just their first names. Neighbours etc were Mr or Mrs.

Yep, as a child of the 70's grown ups were always Mr & Mrs. Even the parents of yer besties.

Close friends of your mum and dad were addressed 'auntie' and 'uncle' and then their first name. Even though more often than not actually related.
