I must confess not watched it for over 25 years, I think I lost interest by 1992

Same here. By then the Simon Bates and Mike Read types were being replaced by Zoe Ball and Jamie Theakston types.

The 80s DJs were the best.

Didn’t Jimmy Savile present it in the 80’s?

He may have presented one or two specials but he was more 60s and early 70s.

There may have been acts who were only on that TV show once or twice but as that creature JS presented that particular episode, it will never be aired again.

That was a genuine question. I was born in 87 so didn’t get to watch it in the 80’s.

Sutton Coldfield

I'm ten years older but I don't remember him ever being on it when I watched it live as a kid. Before it came to light who he actually really was, I watched repeats of older ones with him on which thankfully nobody will ever see again.

When you and I watched it the pop video would be shown if an act couldn't appear live. Before pop videos became a thing they'd have dancers on instead.
