Leaky flat roof

How can I seal it to stop it leaking? Cheap botch job will do as it’s having en extension build over it in the next few months

Depends on that the roof is and what it's made from.

Flashing tape is a start, would look better than just a tarp.

Do you know where it's getting in?

It’s getting in everywhere! I can’t pin point the exact spot. It needs to be generally sealed

Acrypol+ you paint it on it forms a skin and stop rain getting through. It is thick so need a strong brush to apply gloves and old cloths. As if you get it on you it's hard to remove. About £60 for 5 litre tin

The problems is finding where the leak actually is. Where you observe the water on the inside is not where the leak is directly above.

If its being built on, you might want to just secure a couple of layers of tarpaulin sheets available from any good DIY store

If you know the area where it’s leaking through I believe you can buy a paint like product you just paint over the top and it fills it for flat roofs.

I patched a leaking stable roof with a spray I got online when we had the storms because nobody could come out and do it straight away called spray and seal from Amazon. But this was a shingle roof. Sure it would work as temp though.

Google it it will tell you nearest stockists and you can even put it on if the roof is wet it will cure the problem

A tarp or a paint on sealant then. It's the summer afterall, you shouldn't get masses of rain and if it's getting removed you don't want to spend lots.

I don’t. The ones I found aren’t free until 2050 at least, booked up for the next trillion years!! Slight exaggeration maybe

This is definitely the quickest and best solution to a short term problem . Just remember to check gutters and down pipes at the same time because if they aren’t draining quickly then water may be standing on the roof and finding cracks in the old surface.

Then you're gonna have to get your hands dirty and give the sealant a go... It won't be a permanent solution, but with the recent weather it should hold out until your extension is built

It definitely works. I used it yesterday. You can pick it up from wickes. Stuff does smell strong.

you need to climb onto the roof and yoy might see a crack in the felt. on a joint or the flashing upstand where the roof meets the wall
