You don't need to know the language if you know what every little hand gesture means. Pretty much like sign language

Un homme qui dort, 1974, has to be one of the best films ever. And the English version has my wife, Shelley Duvall, as the narrator

I watch quite a lot of foreign language films mostly on Channel 4, Netflix, Prime and BBC4. Have to have English sub titles though.

Love Scandi murder mysteries, French Cop series, Italian Inspector Montalbano, Turkish romantic historical films and have recently watched some very violent Polish films.

I'm a big fan of the old Jackie Chan movies (without the dubbing)

I've also been watching some Polish movies about the war and they put most movies made in the west to shame. Wolyn (where my family is from) is particularly harrowing.

Cheshire

If it has subtitles it really doesn’t matter to me. Looking at my collection it is mainly French & Italian with a smattering of Spanish and Asian films.

I feel sorry for those cinema goers who only stick to English speakers films. Asia has great horror and action films for example and the remakes are watchable but not fantastic.

I don’t often watch English language films now as many of them are re-makes or just badly written.

La la land

What about the Welsh language film Hedd Wyn? It's a bit old but it's a really good film that was nominated for an Oscar. It's a first world war but it has strong anti war vibes.
