What would be considered too big of an age gap

Personal choice really, as long as everyones of legal age and consenting.

Some people wont meet those young enough to be their children or old enough to be their parents.

All depends what you want to do, converse or just fuck

50 years older (right now) and 5 years younger (right now).

Whatever difference is fine by me.

Age is just a number.

You can get some mature 18 year olds and some downright immature 40 year olds.

Depends on the people and the situation... I've enjoyed amazing sex and a great relationship, with a couple 40yrs older than me. And likewise with a couple 20yrs my junior. Equally found that despite the amazing sex I couldn't relate at all to a woman less than ten years younger than me....

So I this world I'm really not sure that age means all that much

Judging by recent threads a larger gap where the woman is the older partner is more acceptable than the other way round.

For me twenty years under and ten over is about my limit

I consider a gap of 10 years either way.

Ive dated ladies 20 years my junior and 15 years my senior.

Half your age plus seven is a pretty good rule of thumb. For upper limit, just base it on the older person. We find this is pretty accurate.

(rule of thumb for you to live by, not for you to judge anyone else by)

For me? I’ll cross that bridge if I ever come too having to think about it.

Thankfully I normally talk to people who I’ve never had to think, ‘are they too young/old?’

What works for you. Some people feel uncomfortable with it, some embrace it. I've been with men over 20 years my junior and one ten years older - was all great.

I think once your 18 you can make your own choices. If you wanna be 65 and date an 18 year old, crack on.

I wasn’t going to comment, but as opinions are being shared. Here’s my 2 cents.

18 year olds aren’t mature to be in age gap relationship. I think it’s weird for a guy to be wanting a teenager. Yes that’s right an 18 yo is a teenager.

It’s my opinion and how I feel about it. Before you criticise me; ask your 18 year old self if were making good decisions at 18.

I was making terrible decision

But if a hot 18 year old wants to make a terrible decision with me, who am I to deny her the privileges of making her own adult decisions

For contrast, plenty of people in their 30s are still unable to make good decisions

Just to add that I was once told by a lady friend that there is a formula for this.

You divide your age by two and add 7 to come up with the youngest person you should date.

As long as I don’t have to double it and add 7

I've had a relationship where he was 21 years older than me. For various it was too big of a gap and I certainly wouldn't do it again. 10 years -/+ my age is more than enough x

Manchester (he/him)

My general guide is ten years +/- but that’s just a rough thing and I don’t filter.

If I met someone in person, I’m not going to dismiss them just because they’re a few months out, so why do it on here?

You can get mature 25 year olds and older people with young energy. It’s about connecting, not box ticking

I also think there is a huge different between just having casual sex with someone vs full relationship with someone ...

I wouldn't want to date my younger friend of 18 at all but the physical play is pretty a good laugh all round ..

I've never been with a woman older than me at any stage in my life.

On here I won't meet or engage with anyone within 10 years of my eldest child so that currently means no-one under 40.

It has nothing at all to do with maturity and everything to do with my own comfort in a situation.

If I was single I would probably go 10 years either way.

As a couple we stick to around Mrs NE’s age up to 40.

For sex and meets here I would happily go as young as 20. For a relationship probably never younger than 30. As for older, if I’m honest I wouldn’t normally go for more than 5 years older.

These are my own arbitrary and in no way scientific parameters I’ve set for myself based on my instinct.

"What would be considered too big of an age gap "

Minimum age is the only limit for me in terms of numbers, and 22 / 23 had been the youngest I have gone in recent years. In the other direction, I once had a 50 year age difference

On here, I'm happy to meet anyone 20 years younger so from 25 up. 10 years older, at a push.

Dating, they'd have to be 35 plus to 50.

One that someone is uncomfortable with.

Or involves breaking the law.

Whatever the people involved think it is. There's 14 years between us, age has never bothered me.

'Acceptable' is subjective

It doesn't really matter as long as you're both consenting adults

I don't think it really matters as long as the two involved are happy. I'd be fine having sex with a 75 year old if there was connection and attraction. But I always have more in common with people nearer my own age, so usually meet 18-45 year olds with about 35 being my sweet spot. Xx
