It's impossible to remember what weight you're using for every different excercise. Personally I put it in my phone notes but I understand why others may want to use an actual notebook.

I’ve got a spreadsheet on my phone to record progress.

I already take a belt, knee wraps, water bottle towel and deadlift straps. Carrying a notepad on top of that would just be overkill.

Yep, gym notes are your friend! Mine are all my phone, but can see the appeal of a notepad. Guy at my gym has an A4 sheet on a clipboard for each workout, which may be a little extreme!

I have mine in my phone. Although that then runs the risk of be falling fowl of the 'people messing about on their phone mid set' rant.

When in reality its a short note on my last set and keeping an eye on my rest timer.

I’m a notebook wanker.

I can’t do sums on the fly, and have to work to %’s that determines the load amount. It’s all a scribbled down mess, but it’s a system.

I have used one for years, as it helps me keep track of progress and to know when to vary routine/ exercises. Crucially it is also due to me having joint conditions and some i juries, I know how something may react, I have to monitor it
