Online is image of a Spaniel dog being dragged backwards by her collar,by a staff member at Paws Playhouse,a dog daycare centre in Leyland Lancashire....

The RSPCA say " we cannot take action as no law has been broken"

Really!

Why be called the RSPCA if you can't stop any possible further cruelty at this establishment..

The RSPCA are in it for the money..don't be fooled otherwise.

.

( Check out the RSPCA CEO and top people's earnings..you'll be surprised..or not...that's where some of well intentioned donations are going).

I reported a dog that was clearly showing signs of neglect, left in a house with just a dog walker going in twice a day.

The RSPCA said that as someone was going in at least once a day it wasn't seen as neglect so there was nothing they could do.

Is this about the RSPCA or the law?

Essentially the Animal Welfare Act stops the RSPCA from doing their job.

You expect a multi-million pound organisation with a large amount of staff, premises, other assets, pension and investment obligations and all the other legal requirements charities and corporations have to adhere to, to be run by Marjorie and Doris- who have free time to volunteer to help the animals, on the days the Bingo isn't on?

Who mentioned Marjorie and Doris..only.you ...

I'm sure out of all the retired richer people on planet Earth one would be an animal lover at heart.. and would waive the £140,000 salary( your donations pay for)

The CEO doesn't work for the legal department....

and how is it being "run" as you say if they can't take action to stop further possible cruelty at the aforementioned premises..the RSPCA has the words 'prevention of cruelty to animals '..note the word prevention...

But it does sound like it's the law that defines cruelty.

I also wonder how many retired ppl want to work full time for a lot less than they were on while they worked (noting that 140k isnt that high for a CEO role)

I get you're angry. Understandable. I'm not sure your anger is directed at the right ppl tho ...

RSPCA do not give a crap unless it's high profile, that I can tell you. I reported a puppy farm running behind my house, saw evidence of dogs tethered and being used as breeding machines, puppies separated from the mother and sleeping in faeces. No food or water, the owners has been gone 3 days and myself and other neighbours were concerned so called the RSPCA but hey could not of cared less.... said they would send someone round 'sometime in the week'

Bolton

The RSPCA have no more power than any other J.Q.Citizen. They are not the animal police, no matter how much they or the public might think they are. As has been said, they have to work within the law, but they do allow the public to think they have greater powers of entry, much like the TV licence people do.

I'm assuming you're currently working full time for a charity for no renumeration?

Remember, as CEO, you're ultimately legally responsible for all under your command, thats a big risk you're asking someone to take for the hell of it? not to mention being available 24/7 365 if the shit hits the fan.

Maybe instead of whinging about it, you go and set up your own animal charity (obviously for free), to take up the slack you're concerned about?
