You have a good circle of friends away from here?

I am so blessed to have mine - regularly check in with me and basically they are like aunts and uncles to my daughter.

What’s your circle, outside Fab like?

I have a few independent circles. Spanking, scuba diving, sailing, saxophone and triathlon (I had to get one hobby that doesn't begin with the letter S). There isn't really much crossover. Quite funny if I ever do a BBQ where people come from the different communities.

I have a handful of very close friends whom I see regularly, we go out, they all often dine here, we all talk regularly.

What makes this circle special?……

There is respect for each other amongst all

There is no envy or jealousy

We all share similar taste /sense of humour

We don’t talk about each other behind backs

I am pleased to call everyone of them a close friend.

Between all of my friends outside of fab I confide in each of them in different ways.

Night and day difference... Fab is a bit of a lonely place for most single males, some get very lucky and good on them. But wouldn't say I had a fab circle at all

Whereas real life is very different. Met some incredible people over the years I've made inseparable bonds with. Fab is a fantasy land, real life is not...

That's how I see it anyway

My best and truest friends are scattered around the country, all from my time in the services. The type of friends who I don’t physically see often, but when we do get together, we pick up exactly where we were before as if no time has passed at all! There are a few friends who I work with but we seem to be friendly, rather than friends in the sense we spend our time together with each other away from work

No, I don't have any close friends. My closest friends distanced themselves when I became a parent and everyone else is just a casual chat/cup of coffee kind of friend.

I have a very close group of friends I met online when I was 15, but as we all live in different parts of the world it's very rare we can meet up, but we stay in touch most days.

I do hope eventually I'll find friends again once I'm in a job and put myself out there. I'm lucky I have my partner really, he's my best bestie.

Missin’ Yo’ Kissin’

I had 4 very close friends.

One was an arse with me - so now I've got nothing to do with him any more.

One got married & she told me where I could find her in the future. However, I can’t find her internet wise as she seems to have slipped off the edge. I do hope she is alright…..? I’m sad as I miss her for her advice. She would have been of great help to me! I hope Covid has not claimed her….

Another got married, has had kids & just seems to have drifted away a bit over the years. I’m not upset as you gain & loose friends throughout your lifetime. It’s just ebb & flow. Kismet perhaps?

That only leaves me with one remaining. I have not seen him since before Covid. I’ve texted him over the past couple years though just to make sure he is o.k. He is! We will arrange a drink soon...

Do you call Fab related friends then? Not being funny, I'm genuinely interested. I have folk I've moved over to whatsapp & whatnot. We chat/craic on. I like them definitely. But not sure if I'd say 'friends'? I certainly wouldn't expect them to put me up in their spare room. Yet, I have a few folk I'd definitely hang out with if they were in the area... Weird one I guess?
