No, not the power tool. Though I'm sure they're fun too.

I used to love them. I could spend hours doing a 1000 piece one. My brother used to put in one piece near the end just so he could say I hadn't done it all myself

I haven't done one in years, unless you count the 20 piece Spot the dog one I do with my youngest.

Anyone else a fan? Got a favourite? Ever tried one of those baked beans pictures or totally blank ones?

Done a load of ones called wasjig. Basically the picture isn't what you make, it's just a guide. Those are excellent, you half complete them before you know what the picture looks like.

Love jigsaw puzzles... have spent hours doing them...1000 pieces... though I do have a breaking point, it has to be doable - so with the picture of what it is and NOT a fried egg or spoonful of baked beans

We go through phases. The hardest we did was one of the Harry Potter marauders map. Insanely difficult for no real reason.

Yep got the big jigsaw case too. Even made some card and felt pads for inside the the zipped cover for more space . It allows me to lay out all the pieces of a 1000 bits.

Omg yeah, we had the camping table out in the living room and we both wore head torches and we had the big light on AND had to reposition the lamp. It was a real team effort but we got there.

It's a nice winter pastime.

We've done about 8 Wasgijs. They're a great challenge, incredibly hard until it's nearly finished.

Omg yeah, we had the camping table out in the living room and we both wore head torches and we had the big light on AND had to reposition the lamp. It was a real team effort but we got there.

Same, thought it would be a fun thing to do with my daughter during lock down. Drove me crazy and she lost interest within minutes.

I did finish it, although it did become an obsession to complete

Edge first , goes without saying, then I set out all the pieces by shape, normal double end, 3 bit or 1 bit leaving a space in the centre for building then one colour at a time, say all the red bits no mater how tiny the red is build as much of that as possible then place roughly or fit if possible, the do same with the next colour. Whenever I'm bored I just close up the case and put the whole thing behind a wardrobe. Case keeps the pieces laid out perfectly for next time.

Oh thank goodness!! If you had said randomly I'd have been so sad.

I know another person who also lays out by shape, and another who does by colour, but you seem to have the full kit and kaboodle.

I have mine on a jigroll so I can put it away.

Oh. Are we very sad???

Yes I'm a jigsaw nerd, currently have 270 in my to do pile. I have a tilting puzzle table, clip on light that changes hue so I can see pieces depending on the colours and I run a Facebook puzzle group for swaps etc.

My wife gave me the worlds hardest jigsaw as a present, I only lasted about 30 minutes on it , only about 200 piece but it was just clear plastic , no picture or colours at all. Couldn't even do the edge as it was so badly cut out you could very gently fit multiple different pieces together on the same piece. I would say it was more of a cheat jigsaw as opposed impossible. Was quite disappointed.

I'm actually going to have to sell some, perhaps half of them as we're moving house and hubs has categorically refusing to move them all again. Took us forever doing multiple runs in the car just to move my puzzles last time. Oops...

A girl sent me one when I was deployed of the northern lights. It was bloody hard as the sky was just varying shades of green and blue.

I found it incredibly cathartic in a high tempo environment. I’d just spend any odd moment filling in the odd piece whilst the other lads watched tv. Took me a month or to do it.

Coincidentally I learnt it to a tinder date and she promptly dumped me and still has it haha.

My nan’s spare room.

As a kid I had a round jigsaw of British garden birds.

I’d love to be able to get it again.

Jigsaws are challenging and you can lose yourself in them, but they can be art too.

Some are really shot though.
