"I just finished Bernard MacLaverty‘s ‘Cal’. It was a gorgeous book but I wasn’t happy with the ending. Well it was ok but I wanted more. Not happier, just more. Started ‘NW’ by Zadie Smith and as gorgeous as I’ve heard she is, the lack of speech marks has hurt my head. So I’m going to try again this evening with that. I’ve recently bought an anthology of Black British writing called ‘IC3’ consisting of stories, essays and poems (This is on brand lol because I talk about race a lot). Looks absolutely beautiful. Bought it at Word on the water. Might start that instead of ‘NW’ doesn’t work out but I did fancy a fiction book. I’ll see. " I have read The Road by Cormac McCarthy which also doesn't have any punctuation. It was good once I got over that issue after reading a few chapters.

"Currently reading The Naked Sun by Isaac Asimov. I'm not long into it, but it's an intriguing book, as are all of his that I've read thus far. " I have never heard of that book though I have read all of foundation series. Looks interesting.

"Just finished the Winter Guest by Pam Jenoff. About a brutal war in Poland in 1940. Very powerful." Never read books around wars. That's a genre I need to look into.

I have never heard of that book though I have read all of foundation series. Looks interesting." It's, from what I can gather, a second book to a previous one. However, I read the first one a while ago now so didn't quite realise as my memory is shocking lol. I need to check the lineage of all of his books as I have a lot of them on my kindle and want to make sure that I read them in order.

"I listen whilst I work, so currently listening to 2 really enjoyable books Hamilton by Ron Chernow - bit of a brick as I have the hard copy but seriously good. I very rarely, if ever read or listen to history. And, Barbra about Striesands early years; insightful." For some reason, audio books are hard for me. I get distracted easily.

"I just finished The Dancing Girls by M M Chouinard, it’s the first of hers I’ve read and I really enjoyed it, pretty much read in 24 hours. It’s a murder mystery book but the killer grooms his victims by chatting to them online and arranging meets slowly over time, very sobering! " Interesting story. We can expect a Netflix film with that soon I think

"I’m just getting to the end of ‘All the young men’ by Ruth Coker burns. It’s a true story about a woman in the US in the late 80s/90s who helped men with AIDS when nobody else would. It is heartbreaking at times. My next book is ‘A man called Ove’ I don’t know much about it but it’s our book club choice this month. Kx" The AIDS story does sound sad. I may read it sometime for sure.

One of mates read The second foundation after reading the first book without realising that The second foundation was actually the third book in the series
