"I hadn't heard of it but after a quick Google search, it seems to be the same principle with bodybuilding. I could train and eat the exact same way as The Rock does, but I won't get his body due to different a genetic makeup. That's why my arms and shoulders are still skinny and I'm sticking to that reason! " Yeah essentially. And I’m lazy and if I actually tried I’d have a decent body if I trained hard but i love takeaway too much I know you’re anti tik tok but the video is put well too. It’s interesting.

"An athletes body is not to be replicated by normal every day people..." Women have always had a problem with the media throwing unattainable images at them, but its only really in the last 10 years or so that men have had the same. On another forum I saw an interesting post asking why William Shatner appeared shirtless so often in star trek. The answer was enlightening, that his body until recently was seen as close to the masculine ideal. The modern ideal, people with a more bodybuilder style physique is actually quite moderm. I do remember seeing photos of bodybuilders in the 1970s and thinking how strange they looked, now people like the Rock etc are looked at as ideal. What a lot of people also don't realise is that the figure you see on the screen is only achieved for a very short time, usually just a couple of days of filming, and during that time they are quite seriously dehydrated.

I used to work with a guy who did competitive body building events. He used to switch between bulking and shredding between events, was a grade A grouchy bastard most of the time (and an egotistical arsehole the rest)- but the fucker always had a cold, headache or was exhausted. Can't remember him ever winning an event, but he did once try and impress us with his event photos...where he had a spray tan so orange he looked like the Cuprinol guy off the adverts and utterly ridiculous
