I don't know what it is about listening to someone who really knows their shit that just amazes me (and sometimes makes them seem instantly way more attractive

). Especially at work; I have so much respect for people who know the nuances of their jobs inside and out.

What would you be an expert in? I think mine would be geography or languages, although I'm one of those people who knows a little about a lot

I went on 2 dates with a PHD student who was researching something complex, complicated and would help make a difference. Definitely a smarty pants and was pretty boastful about it.

Her one comment I recall vividly was:

“I bet I’m by far the cleverest person you’ve ever met” sadly humility wasn’t her strong point. Haha

I'm a bit like that. I find it prettt cool when someone knows there stuff.

I'm not an expert in anything but I know a little about a lot of that makes sense. Like how to strip and rebuild an old engine through to how to preserve bones for educational use lol.

We found, even though you are well qualified and pretty good at what you do, talking about your job when out is tiresome.

When we go to the pub we want to engage in pub talk.

Meaning utter shit.

We have to be professional and knowledgeable all day, not when we go out.

I also envy others, watched a man rebuilding a sandstone wall as I drove past each day, what a skill, a thing of beauty once finished.

Nothing better than someone that knows their stuff, whatever it may be. I’m still studying and have lots more to learn about psychology but one day I hope to be able to seduce someone into bed with my knowledge haha! Until then, I tend not to chat about my specialty of tax and accountancy as it bores the life from me haha

I used to hang out with a guy i can only describe as a genius, He was at the time doing semiconductor research that was part funded by NASA and was effectively a good ten years ahead of anything computery in most of the rest of the world.

Outside of this realm though, total fucking moron- couldn't sort out the simplest adulting shit like going to the shop for more than 1 item or cooking oven chips without the fire brigade having to help out

I used to work at the national physical laboratory in Teddington.

There was a guy there who was a fricking genius but had zero common sense.

He was just on such a different level to anyone else he simply couldn't converse with mere mortals.
