Rolling Stones dropping Brown Sugar .

Bristol.

After playing the classic 'Brown Sugar'more than 1200 times live, Jagger/Richards have decided to drop the song from their live sets, on the grounds of it's racist lyrics.

I have very mixed feelings and thoughts about this and appreciate times have changed, we have moved on etc..but how far do we go? Will they also drop all the sexist stuff from that period?

Anyone else have thoughts?

Well i look forward to Hip Hop taking a similar stance with removing offensive content...that should see off about 99% of it and just leave Tone Loc holding the fort

Unlikely. Medina is a holy/spiritual city in Saudi Arabia. So that's Tone Loc compromised if he ever sings "Funky Cold Medina" ever again.

Guess they can decide which songs of theirs they want to sing or not.

I think Jaggar's been distancing himself from it for years, but I can see why he might not want to sing about sla*ery that much.
