Is this a common occurrence on here, can your profile be altered without any notice?

Maybe they have been reported for some reason. Pics and videos can be approved and then later removed by Admin if they are against site rules.

We had a photo removed from our holiday in Greece because a stray cat happened to walk across the room. It wasn't a rude photo, just Aurelia in a bikini looking out over a balcony. It had been up for quite a while so someone must have reported it.

We were informed though.

OP lots of things get removed, sometimes quite rightly, other times in error.

It's usually down to reports by other users who've seen images elsewhere on the net.

Of course many people on here use other sites and have posted images elsewhere online themselves. But people get suspicious and report and sometimes it's easier for things to be removed than for the site to risk a copyright infringement claim.

If you think there's no reason for something to be removed then reupload it, or send a message to site admin asking why it was taken down.

If there's an obvious reason then the pic mod that checks it should reject it telling you why.
