"why a claw hammer, to tap the dowels in i guess ? i usely use a rubber mallet when assembling flat packs" There's something that has to be tapped in and the instructions says a little hammer, so I bought my own one. "Flatpack stuff is usually pretty good to build these days. Just take your time, sort out all the screws and fixings so you are 100% certain you’re using the correct ones in the correct places, and don’t over-tighten anything. Tight is fine, but you can easily overdo it and strip the hole, weakening the strength of the fixing. You’ll be fine "I know how to do it.
