Embrace the fat! Roll up rolls of flesh and sumptuous thickness. I’m fat and all about self love and not beating myself up. Be healthy but don’t damage your self worth but loading it all on what size you are, too big, too small, too what?! Everyone is perfectly fabulous and sex worthy just being who they are in the minute. Today I relish in my beautiful bootyfullness, my fatness and my hunger for a bacon bap. Be kind to yourselves you gorgeous people you!

I like my chubbiness. I'm cute. Fat. Working on the latter but you're right, life is too short to beat myself up about it constantly and not do things. So I'm taking my glorious soft squidgey self and I'm going to embrace meeting new people. Maybe even have a flirt. And not worry or listen to my annoying self doubt.

Nice to see a thread on body positivity.

I have an indentation in my chest that I was born with and have a scar on my left side from when I had open heart surgery at 6 years old but I've never let that bother me. I maybe on the hairy side as well but that's not bothered me either.

I love my body and I believe we are unique and beautiful

I'm positive about my body but it gets more difficult as it ages. The media concentrates so much on youth and trying to deny the signs of aging.

To all the older people out there...

love the positivity OP, and absolutely endorse the positive mental attitude message! We are what we are and should absolutely embrace everything that’s positive about ourselves and not worry about the negatives, life really IS too short not to enjoy every last minute to the full

Gotta be honest though from a personal perspective after a wholesome Christmas and then immediately hit by a bout of Covid that knocked me and my exercise regime for six, I’m fatter than I would like to be and where I was last Autumn. I put on 2 stone and in my the last few weeks getting back on the horse, so to speak, I’ve managed to cut down by almost a stone so just under half way there to getting back to where I was.

And each day I lose more I literally feel healthier, able to do things for longer and quicker, my blood pressure is reducing back to normal .. so for me (and I accept this is a totally personal perspective) I just want to make myself the best I can be (on those things I can impact and influence!) and that includes losing weight from a purely health perspective looking to the longer term.

So to everyone on the thread I would agree to embrace what you are, love yourself and your body, and if you’re not exactly where you want to be with it try and make those positive changes to get to where you’re going to be happy

It should never be about about what anyone else thinks or believes to be the norm. It's always about you, being happy in yourself, staying as fit and healthy as you can and feel positive and confident with it.If not and something makes you unhappy, talk about it and seek help if you need to address it in your own time and pace without any additional stress to your life. We are all different and that's what makes the world around us such an interesting place. How boring it would be if we were all clones of one another. Personally, I find the obsession with the 'body beautiful', for men or women, not only narcissistic but rather unhealthy in itself and I certainly don't have the time or desire to strive for it for the wrong reasons.

its easy to lose , just walk for 30 minutes before work every morning , or simply everyday

wake early as the mornings are light , nobody about and not to hot , and walk fast around the block , 15 minutes away from house and 15 minutes back

weight starts to fall off after about 6 weeks

Lovely thread OP. I'm fat, I am squishy and squidgy. I have rolls and folds. And cellulite, stretch marks and dimply skin.

And yeah I currently loosing some of the excess weight. But it's a hell of lot easier to do when you are not your own worst critic. Wasting energy on self loathing is pointless. It's much much better spent on positive things

wake early as the mornings are light , nobody about and not to hot , and walk fast around the block , 15 minutes away from house and 15 minutes back

weight starts to fall off after about 6 weeks"

It's not easy, especially if you have mobility problems and extreme pain. I can't walk fast or very well at all sometimes, but I have lost some weight through living a healthier life style and trying to be more mobile where I can.

Hmm average calories burnt in half hour walk is 100-300. I don't think weight is going to fall off that quickly in such a small space of time.

I personally think this kind of advice isn't great. It makes people think they should see results quickly and when they don't they quit. Yes an increase in exercise is good but it's no quick fix.

I feel as body positivity is becoming more and more synonymous with "fat positivity". Believe it or not I also have a lack of confidence when it comes to my body, specifically towards my height and stature...I've tried joining a couple of body positivity Facebook groups in the past, and both rejected me ( one group even responded with " you do not need body positivity"). I never truly felt welcomed or included in the body positivity movement. It's like Nicki Minaj once said ..." I'm all about body positivity, but fuck those skinny bitches"

Body positivity can only come from within. I’m fat - fact. The amount of people who say you’re not or you have a lovely figure means nothing. If I was fat and happy then yeah fuck it id be happy. Plenty of people are fat and happy and that’s great. I’m not. I’ll never be happy being tall either, never have never will no matter how much people say I should embrace it. I guess it’s similar to you with the height thing. My sister in law is very thin and hates it but she just can’t put weight on. I think deep down there are very few people who are totally happy/confident with what they’ve got but if people can embrace it and be happy about it then that’s fantastic x

I agree with this. When I was much slimmer I had boobs like spaniels ears. Absolutely hated them and disliked getting naked. If I mentioned it I got trounced though. I was ‘lucky’ to be slim (nothing to do with the healthy diet and exercise routine ofc ) and had no right to complain.

Now I’m bigger I like my boobs (as they’ve filled out) but dislike the rest of me. I’ve noticed a lot of women (not necessarily forumites so no criticism intended) are nicer to me now I’m overweight. If I tone up/lose a little weight I’m hoping they’ll continue to be nice - because years ago some of them had me in tears.

I have ‘some’ body positivity - I don’t hate myself - but there are things I want to work on - and things I can do nothing about (like the thread veins and older skin) that I can do nothing about without spending money that I don’t have. Xx

I don't know I totally agree. The body positive influencers I follow are either slim or of average size. The one who is plus sized I follow because she has similar shape to myself. And this is something I've done purposely to open my own eyes to how bodies should be and that nobody is perfect. And what I've seen is people of all shape and sizes boosting each others confidence.

I’m fat, balding, plain looking with a barely functioning penis. But I still manage to have fun and get out of this site what I want.

My body and ailments don’t define who I am, they just affect what I can do. But chances are even if I could do them, I wouldn’t want to anyway.

I'm fat. But I completed a 10k road race today, by manual wheelchair (no help at all), in 1hr 13min. Had the roads not been crap and full of potholes, I'd have shaved a good number of minutes off that. I can do a 5km Parkrun in 30min. Fat, yes. Pretty fit though.
