Your week in the gym

Whether losing weight, just keeping fit, training for an event/competition or sport.

How did it go?

Good, bad, indifferent, it's all

work in the bank.

Only 2 weeks left of my strength block now, stupid heavy low reps then I'll have a short break before I go again.

It went well at the start of the week went up on the dumbells a bit more think i could do more but my grip strength is not good enough which is annoying

Farmers walks with dumbbells good for grip strength

Ended my gym subscription so I can focus on CF full time. Been great so far, learning lots of new lifts in a super friendly and supportive environment. As a plus size girl I always feel vindicated when the trainers compliment my strength and mobility too

I’ve had a pretty awesome end to my latest block.

PB’s on my deadlift, squat, and bench press.

Lots of visible progress on my upper body.

New 12 week program beginning next week to push those powerlifting totals higher.

My shift to morning workouts has been a resounding success, and I’m beginning to nail down the food side too.

Very very happy Keyser this week.

You could buy wrist wraps too. Some may think it's cheating but I see it as my progression shouldn't stall because of something not contributing to building that muscle

Yeah, it depends on goals, wrist wraps add nothing but stop my wrists folding in half in really heavy bench. Straps only use on heavy rows and Romanian deadlifts, never deadlifts as I cant use them in competition so defeats the object. My grip will always give out before my back or posterior chain on rows and RDLs so why limit it bu my grip

That's fair enough, I use them on quite a few pull exercises and they definitely help but can see why you can't use them for deadlifts

Weak week this week because my dodgy shoulder was hurting and I'm trying to preserve myself for the 10k push on Sunday. I did Parkrun last Saturday, new PB of 30:50. Stupidly went to wheelchair basketball last night, thought I'd take it "easy" but today, my dodgy shoulder hurts and so does my back. I'll grit my teeth and push on through on Sunday!

Taking bets as to how fast I'll make it round a fairly flat 10k on the road....

Congrats!

Do you eat before morning sessions? I have tried them (fasted as I don't usually like to have breakfast) but I just don't have as much strength and stamina

A good week for fighting, bumps and bruises everywhere.

I've done less weights work, but I'm aware of why and am OK with it.

Another week beckons next week, so another opportunity to "ave at it"!!

A good week. Last week was my first week back after a forced 2 week break so took it easy. This week I went all in and felt good. Lifts are still a tiny bit down but I felt strong and enjoyed my workouts.

I’ve added a lot more cardio and even that’s seemed easier than I thought it would.

I wake up at 4:45, and chuck a banana, and some oats, and a coffee down me. I don’t train until 6. That brekky gives me enough to get through the session. I can’t train on an empty stomach.

Bloody brilliant!! 3 sessions down this week, week 4 of a 12 week programme and I added weighs or reps every exercise except kneeling leg curls because they're just nasty!

And a tidy little 16 miles under my belt so far too.

I've just read that back..... I am so boring
