This place is fantastic. Or meh.

sorry I'm very very excited for it, but worried after all the hype it's going to not be that good.

However early reviews look good and have loved watching all the interviews

Manchester (he/him)

I kind of feel that the window for it passed about 20 years ago.

I’m sure I’ll catch it at some point and I’m hoping that it’s as thoroughly gay as the original!

If nothing else, the action sequences look breathtaking but old man Tom doing the same shit? That sounds like he’s being the poster boy for a mid life crisis

I'm looking forward to it, watched the first again a couple of nights ago on Prime, tearful moment when goose dies.

Love the bike action and looking forward to part 2.

I’m against the grain and will say that I’m giddy as a schoolboy excited to see this. The original movie will always have a place in my heart. I’m an aviation fanatic, so it’s a must for me.

Tickets booked to see it next weekend.

YES!

I'm certainly not. I love planes, but for the first suffered the same problem that Pearl Harbor has in that it has an unnecessary love story arc that ruins the film.

Joking apart I will be watching, probably several times, I loved the original.

I love watching the jets fly over Windermere, not just seeing them but the sound and feel of them, I’d love to have a go, yes I know I’d projectile vomit but wouldn’t care, there awesome

"Your ego's writing cheques your body can't cash!"

"Sorry - what's a cheque?"

"Oh. Well it was a written document that instructed a bank or building society to pay a person or an organisation using funds from a current or company account."

"Really? Did you get your money immediately?"

"No - it usually took four to five working days to clear in your account."

"Seriously? What was the point in that?"

"Well we didn't have the digital banking resources back in the day to deal with these things."

"Thank God for progress eh?"

"I guess so. I WANT SOME BUTTS."

I bought a GPZ900R and yes, thought I was Tom riding to see Charlie in her beach side home. Not that easy in imaging that in Bolton.

Can’t wait to see it, I know it’ll be nowhere as good as the original film, but who cares it’ll be fun.

I couldn't believe the original was 36 years ago .

Tom Cruise looks well on it and we could use some glitz and glamour at the moment.

I’m really not. When they try and do a sequel to a classic 36 years later it just has all the ingredients to destroy the great nostalgia and memories

St Austell

There are quite a few things from the original which the sequel will not be able to better, or equal - but I'm looking forward to seeing it as and when...

....just have to try and treat it purely as entertainment, and not sit there thinking "they wouldn't do that", or "that's not right", etc...

And for die-hard 'Top Gun' fans who haven't seen the parody that VF-32 did:

In deference to Tom's advanced years, they've changed it to a sexually charged game of dominoes.

I enjoyed the original, and looking forward to seeing the sequel, but not expecting it to be as good, probably a lot of CGI.

I am doubtful of a repeat of the scene if Kelly McGillis walking down the middle of the class in fully fashioned stockings … one of my favourite bits! mmmmm

R xx

won't be lots of cgi. When watching the interviews it was about how they all had to train to go up in the planes and the planes were fitted with imax cameras

Not my cup of tea, Dambusters and Battle of Britain are more my kind of viewing.

The new Elvis biopic looks more interesting than Tom flexing his ego.
