Outside of work (if you do work) who do you interact with on a face to face basis most?

At lunch with a friend today I realised its the staff in my local pub though most don't know my name and would not what to do if I did not show up for a few days, if they noticed.

Got me thinking

My son who lives with me and my dog. I also phone my mum everyday and visit twice a week. I also see my daughter once a week. My life is very busy but also quiet and I prefer it this way.

I see my parents every week and my stepdaughter 1-2 times a week depending on how busy she is. I love my quiet life.

I’d be lost without my Gym, so many great people in there I speak with almost everyday I’m working out in there, I’ve also got a wingman mate on here with whom I chat with ( when he can be bothered to pull the lead outta his ass & chat!)

WFH three days this week has meant I've not seen anyone face to face since Monday. It will be Monday before I see anyone again and then I'll be in that office the whole week going forward. Don't see my parents that much and neither does my sister as she lives in Ireland x

The checkout people at the supermarket I go to once a week or so, though there are quite a few of them so you rarely get the same one twice in a month. They ask me if I need a bag, I say no, then they tell much how much it is. It’s riveting conversation

I appreciate the thread was for people living on their own but it did get me thinking that other than K, I can't say I regularly interact with people. I don't really chat to anyone at the gym nor am I a regular at a pub or anything like that

For me it's gym staff and users, the lovely folks at Costa and a couple of Fabs friends.

Oh lord, how lonely my life seems now. Thanks OP!!

The people who live in my walls. They’re having sex, parties and friends over. I shout at them when they make too much noise.

Those voices in my head I have those guys under control….for now

I do video chats with my family weekly and go to stay with them about once a month. But otherwise my actual social life is mostly fab friends. X

My son stays with me sometimes during the week and at the weekends. Apart from that my mum. Speak to freinds everyday but seeing them face to face can be a rarity.

Often feel sad when read stories about people found injured or worse after a period of time because no one missed them.

Or happier when they were found and helped because the local cafe realised they had not been in for a few days

Probably a couple of friends. During Covid lock down I didn’t see either my brother or my eldest sister at all - the peace was great! Ok so yes I did miss them, but I literally didn’t see either for a year….

Friends, spoke on phone regularly and if I didn’t one would message and ask if I was still alive lol

In my happy place

Hardly anyone. Ive done a few days in office but the people who turn up are nothing to do with me.

Im a hermit for face to face contact.

Friends keep in touch via phone and we meet occasionally.

Its totally frustrating sometimes.

My mother every day as I am her full time carer but other than that face to face it's probably a few people in my street a couple of times a week and that's about it.
