I dont drink or go to the pub, but I did remember how cheap a pint was in 1997, do you? It was only £1.42 and compared to now where a pint costs £5.19, that is a big increase, also a bus fare used to cost just 0.70p, have you also noticed the increases?

A pint in my local when I started going out properly was 67p.

7 pints and then just enough change from a fiver for a bag of chips on the way home.

First time in a pub, pint of mild 17 pence. Yes I was underage. When a pint of lager went up to 50 pence in my local I swore I'd stop drinking when it reached a pound.

That's an odd one as Wetherspoons price differ depending where you are. Edinburgh at 2.79 guest beers

Ah Ruddles, way back in the pre breathalyser days they owned about 14 pubs in Rutland and Leicestershire and they had a promotion, you had to visit every one of their pubs and get a loyalty card signed to confirm that you had bought a pint, When all pubs had been visited you sent the card back to Ruddles and they sent you a Pewter Tankard. Happy times the swinging 60s were.
