Huw Davies Legend

Chelmsford

A memorial bench has been positioned overlooking the sea in Welsh Wales, with a plaque saying. In memory of Huw Davies who use to sit here and shout Fuck Off at the Seagulls. The Council have removed the plaque.

If it had been a bench by Banski they would have placed an ice cream van next to it and made a fortune. Council vandals if you ask Tom

If it is "Welsh Wales" why isn't the plaque in Welsh ?

They've probably removed it because of the language and it being in a public place.

Can we ignore the “welsh wales” bit unless we want this moved to the Politics area?

There was a bench by a beach and the council removed the plaque I think is the key point here.

And a contributer said 'we don't speak your language'

What does that say to me..

Your language is inferior to mine?

Because it's not my language then your language does not count?

The only language is English?

The Welsh language is inferior?

Tom's advice to those who try to communicate in their own language to others who do not speak English ... Just shout louder at them ... that seems to work every time.. .

Regardless of language..

Tom loves the bench and the inscription plate .

Huw would sit, overlooking the sea telling seagulls to fuck off . .. the small brass plate celebrated his voice and life.. there was no speaker broadcasting those wonderful words of tribute . It was a small engraved plate and that memorial has been removed, desecrated and shame on those who sanctioned that madness ...

Big question is Tom, did anyone consult the Seagulls?

Were they offended? Did the mounting of the plaque dishonour the tree which sacrificed its being to become a bench.

These are important points Tom. The council has many questions to answer.

This plaque was ‘unauthorised’ Tom!!!!

Ffs! An unauthorised plaque!!!!! The shame of it!

We are not told of the authenticity or heritage of the plaque Tom, only that the power of social Media brought attention to the an authorised memorial and the council “took action”.

The council taking action being a rare event should have been newsworthy of itself. But the crude nature of the plaque’s wording makes for a more salacious story!

Cofiwch Huw!

Yes!!!!!

Elvis was actually called Huw “Cawl” Madocs of Preseli. But his record label though that would not catch on.

Incidentally his great great great great great (x10) granny also built Stonehenge. Blue suede shoes is a tribute to that endeavour.
