Public hair(pubic)

So me and the men were talking about pubic hair at work. Something to talk about. I initiated it. Anyway I said to them 'isn't it funny why we humans have hair down there, I Mean as humans we have hair on our head because we loose a lot of heat through our head, but why have we got it down there'? It turns out(according to my little research and feed back from one of the men), that the hair is there to keep our precious free from germs (it acts like the eye lashs) and it also acts as a lubricant. So you shaving it off really isn't good. But then again in the modern age we shower/bath daily anyway so technically evolution is behind the time's?
