Blackpool's Jake Daniels said his decision to come out as the UK's only openly gay active male professional footballer will allow him to be "free and confident".

Hope he don’t look at twitter , my god the homophobic comments are dreadful , hope others follow him , there has to be loads , it’s funny how in the ladies football there are loads and it’s no problem, but some men just can’t accept that there are gay men in sport and it don’t matter ,

Football support really is the lowest common denominator in this country. Decades out of touch. And Everton fans in trouble for racist abuse of the families of two visiting players yesterday. Disgusting.

Unfortunately, with a small majority of football they bring society problems to the game. Whether it's homophobic or rascim, regrettably, some people will always tarnished the game.
