Can anybody help want to convert a toilet to auto or sensor flush.

Hi does anybody know if a conventional push button toilet (cistern is behind a panel) can be converted to an automatic flush or a sensor flush, without replacing the whole toilet?

Yes, but you'll need power as the proximity sensor and associated water solenoid will need power

Sensor flush?

What wizardry is this? Ive not heard of these...

You can but you need to change the internals.

Which means toilet cistern off change the flush part and reconnect again.

Your choice is either infa red or infa red with controls the infa red cheap can be set off often.

Technically all domestic work unless replacing like with like (ie socket face plate) comes under the part p requirements

I would suggest you're first port of call would be a local plumbers merchants and find out what's available and the requirements so you'll be better informed as to whether it's worth it. A lot of these proximity sensor systems are aimed at commercial situations and correspondingly attach scary prices
