Who would you class as the best Sherlock?

My vote goes to Jeremy Brett.

"Tie dr strange and iron man"

Iron man's accent probably swings it towards Eggs Benedict

I love Cumberbatch, Downey, Brett and Miller all do an amazing job but my favourite is Nicholas Rowe who plays him in Young Sherlock Holmes.

Jeremy Brett. That show was the truest, most accurate, representation of the written stories. Proper Victorian melodrama.

Also when I owned a telly it was continually on ITV4. Every day it seemed. Is that still true?

Jeremy Brett was the first Sherlock Holmes I came across so will always hold a special place in my heart. How ever both Cumberbatch and Downy Jr are brilliant in there own way both bringing very different qualities to the roll...I would find it very difficult to choose between them. I also liked Johnny Lee Millers version, however i believe that is controversial as i have been shouted at for that opinion before...

Jeremy Brett has to be the archetypal Sherlock Holmes.

I really like Robert Downey Jr as Sherlock Holmes but haven't seen anyone else play him. I re-watch those films every so often though
