We all been there..new job part of getting to know colleagues,object to get people talking warm up the room..do they actually work? Just feels lame and we all been there before..yawn! Thoughts fabsters?

Started two new members of my team a couple of weeks ago. Took em to the pub. Not HR compliant, but I'm a dinosaur, and that's how it was done with me in the 80s

They can be a bit cringe, and I think the success can vary greatly depending on the person leading it and the participants.

I don't tend to wait for the icebreaker, I prefer to just go and sit in the middle of the group and talk to people, probably crack a couple of ridiculous jokes to relieve the awkward silence.
