I posted my ultímate answer to this question a long time ago and I won’t ever repeat it again. So…

Recently a pretty hot girl told me a was pretty hot, or a dish, I can’t quite remember because I was pretty bamboozled on how she persuaded me to give her a snog in the first place. (Not true) . So yeh, I’ll take pretty hot as a compliment right now.

As a woman who used dating sites I'd receive a lot of compliments off men (as we do).

However, the two compliments that really stand out were from women. When my sons were little I was in a shop and the lady behind the counter said they were good looking boys and looked straight at me and said that it was no surprise as I was beautiful. It came from nowhere and maybe she just wanted a sale. I was a little embarrassed but also flattered. I found her a bit flirty but I may have imagined that.

A few months later a lady was in Tesco and was promoting something on a stand. As I walked past she asked if I was interested and I said no thank you and she just stared at me and said I had the most beautiful smile and wished me a lovely day.

I've never forgotten these two compliments. Maybe because they were from women and not men.

Other than from my partner or family & friends because they’re biased, someone called me really smart which I liked even if it’s objectively untrue. And someone called me ‘an excellent date’ recently and I was pleased to hear that.
