"Would it be classed as murder? Obviously he was killed and the bear did it, but in a trial would the bear have claimed that his mental capacity was such that he thought it was acceptable from a species specific perspective and therefore claim that he wasn't of sufficient sound mind, according to the requirements of the human legal system? Am I over thinking this?" The intent was there so yes it was murder .. this was no accident ..

"They are wild bears, they do what they do . They were here first . It's not fair for people to kill them just for them protecting themselves and their species . We go in the sea, where sharks and other animals live, someone gets attacked and then we kill lots of sharks. What gives us the right to do this. Respect the animals spaces and find a place that won't be in their way for us to do our human thing." Too true! We kill about 70 million sharks a year for food, sport etc. They kill a human, then it’s a killer & news. Very sad.

How do you plan to prove the premeditated element of the killing please? Did the bear leave a note or a voicemail saying that he had plans to kill this guy? If you can't prove that then you can't have murder. Sorry!

When youre a kid you get taught... Don't go near a dog when it's eating, give a Swan and its cygnets { a mother and its offspring} a wide berth.... If a trained specialist soldier isn't aware of that... Maybe they need to tweak their training before sending them out on exercises.

I have spent time in Alaska and there are a LOT of trees. Thousands of miles of the bloody things. It is very easy to stumble over very big wildlife in a dense forest which is why you are generally advised to make your presence known by making lots of noise so that they know you are coming and won’t be surprised. Making noise probably doesn’t work for a special forces soldier.

"This is the reality.. They will take him out to prevent future attacks... Not a nice job but let's honour those brave souls cast with doing it " as I said I don’t agree with going out a killing a wild animal if it attacks you then that’s different you do what you need to do to survive but maybe we should respect their environment and keep away if you do decide to go into their environment then perhaps take something that would put the animal to sleep that’s got to be better than killing it any way that’s all I’ve got to say on it

"The Canadian Chief of Police will no doubt send his sniper units in to do this. Probably the Mounted Division. They are called the Mounties and all are ex military. They will track the bear and will do it not for pleasure but a sense of duty...." Are you a journalist in real life?

"No I am saying that I hope they get the right bear . If they get the wrong bear then an innocent bear has been killed and there is a dangerous killer on the loose.. I hope they don’t get the bear why should it be hunted down and shot ? Because this bear has a taste for human blood and could go on a killing spree targeting humans... maybe humans should keep out of its environment I don’t agree with hunting animals full stop perhaps the paratroopers should of done their due diligence before sending their guys into an area with wild animals This is not a revenge killing.. it's about keeping people safe in the future .. I wonder how people would feel if their family were killed by this evil beast in the future to be told.. we could of killed this evil bugger but hesitated..." Won't the put it on trial, to make sure they got the right bear..? After all even the evil cunt in the Buffalo shooting is getting a trial. And he out scored the bear 10 to 1..?

The evil buggers will be stealing our porridge and sleeping in our beds next. Something definitely needs to be done.

"Of course we should all remember that Alaska is indeed a part of the United States so the Canadian Chief of Police will only deploy his men if he is asked to assist by the Americans. The American Chief of Police is the Head of The Federal Bureau of Investigation. He will be responsible for this bear hunt but may ask the Canadians who are very very experienced in icy conditions .. " The mounties always get their bear

"An American paratrooper has been murdered by a bear whilst training in Alaska. It mauled several others and the bear then escaped into the wild. These are truly voracious beasts in the wild. They might look tame in the zoo but beware.. This is all over the news.. Hunters are now looking for this evil bugger .. " This sounds very worrying for usa special forces Every local knows and most tourists know what to do should a bear approach and almost everyone carries bear spray, even local hotels give bear spray to guests if they are going on walks. This headline post is either made up or the usa army does not consider all situations.

They think, they accidentally stumbled onto a hidden den with the bear and her cubs in it..
