"Always worth talking about various methods of getting help. One that doesn’t get talked about enough is help through your employer. Larger businesses quite often have occupational health departments or even Employee Assistance Providers and mental health first aiders. Worth checking your company details to see what may be on offer " Work ended last week. So that's not an option.

"Always worth asking your local Mind organisations, too. Not just national Mind. Also, you can ask your GP about social prescribing, OP. All the best x " It was a 30 minute phone call with MIND that got me to QWELL. They also told me about Social Prescribers. They sound similar to Health Trainers (I've got that qualification). I went straight round to my surgery (they don't like queue jumpers, ie personal visits at reception.) I mentioned Social Prescribers and the confused look on her face said it all, so after running around the back for a few minutes , she came back and said "Oh, it's not an everyday thing" "So why no posters then, to say you have a limited service?" No answer. No surprise really, I'm too long in the tooth. Poor internal communication in the same small building, is all too common. Covid is no longer an excuse for not putting a poster on the window, notice board or updating literature.

The NHS call the staff Link Workers but it is still social prescribing. It’s not as well known in certain areas of the county as it is in Leeds! Glad you’ve got some support! X

"Thanks. I hope it works, I only found out today after talking to MIND on the phone. Some gems (I hope this is one), should never be hidden. "
