Ne’er cast a clout til May be out.

It’s normally flipping scorching for a few days in April. I’m taking my bloody coat off on those days.

Although that’s more an old wives tale really isn’t it, rather than common sense.

So in answer to your question … I don’t know.

Darn I typed an answe to then put the wrong emoji.

You can cast as many clouts as you want because bits 'the may' and I saw a maytree in bloom the other day. You can leave your thermal vest off tomorrow

It was common sense to my grandmother (born 1901) to keep half an onion under her bed to ward off colds. I think that's probably no longer considered common sense
