How to get fit and stay fit.

From the land of haribos.

I watched a fun video from coach greg, where he talked about 6 points on how to get and stay fit, here is the video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UMzPiLKT-g0&t=193s and here is the 6 points:

1. Why do you want to get fit, set a realistic goal, write it down.

2. Do cardio that you enjoy, start easy and build momentum, become a better butter burner

3. Stop listening to negative people.

4. Stop comparing yourself to other peoplem, compare yourself to you.

5. Exercise and be fit for you.

6. You will end up looking different as when you started.

What goal have you set yourself? My goal is to continue to be lean with visible abs year round,or another word for it as greg says is maingaining. I like the challenge

The secret is to start at an early age. I was a athlete as a child and this continued into my adult live. It became and still is second nature. Yes my body is breaking down now as age creeps up on me but I still try to do regular exercise 5 or 6 times a week.

Getting fit and staying fit is a mind set.

The best exercise plan is one you can maintain and you enjoy. Doesn't really matter if its cardio, weights or a specific sport. If you don't enjoy it, you will find an excuse not to do it. If it makes you happy you will want to do it more.

That is good going and yes, one should start at young age too. I have been very active since childhood and when I started lifting weights I was 18 years

I tried them. They're okay. Not as good as regular French toast, but that's to be expected.

I want to try the anabolic ice cream but I don't have a Ninja blender

Focus! Focus! Focus!

I have not been focusing as much as I would like, because I have had other things on my mind. But that just means that I have been distracted.

So back to focusing!

Can you find me….

Losing 9 st as been a struggle but I’ve been determined and motivated… going from a size 22 to a size 10 is all the motivation I need to keep my weight off. I’ve been on this journey now for 4.5 years and during covid managed to lose more weight. I don’t think of this as a diet more a healthy lifestyle…. I have confidence, new clothes and feel more sexier than I ever felt!

In the west.

For me it's routine. I found I difficult to get back in shape after LD, even though I had some equipment at home.

I pack my bag at night and sit it at the door so I don't forget it. I then go after work at least 4 nights per week for at least an hour. I'm getting my CV back up and I feel good when I'm all sweaty, after that I do free and weight machines.

As you get older, it gets harder. We both take a good balance of vitamins and natural supplements to both the things older bodies lack.

We don't live in the gym, but we do have one in the garden. We eat a balanced diet, we do enjoy a drink and chocolate, we do walk the dogs twice a day.

Simple things like reducing salt to stop water retention helps.

For me it’s the metal affect exercise has more than the physical.

I find cycling and walking everyday helps my mind- it’s my thinking time.

Any physical changes I see as a bonus but not the main focus of my activity.

Managed to do kettlebell session this morning for first time in weeks! Keeping feet flat and grounded

Function and longevity are my main fitness goals. Diet could be better, need to eat more.

I’ve lost 6 stone in just over 2 years. I like to think I’m fit. I train 5 times a week. But every time I train I realise how unfit it am!!! Always something more I can be doing, push harder, lift heavier. It’s a constant for me.

Getting fit was insanely difficult for me in the beginning, a couple of years ago. I could barely climb the stairs at home.

Fast forward 2 years of hard graft, consistent graft, and varied graft. I’m 10st lighter, and showing the beginnings of some body shapes.

Consistency and commitment, it’s the mantra drummed into me weekly by my coach when we pass each other on the floor.
