I can't even think about anything atm as it's too much. That's how I deal with it. I block it out. The downside is I had some weird fucking dreams last night and I was trying to murder my estranged husbands girlfriend ( that to my knowledge he really doesn't have). Lord knows where that came from... so maybe don't do that, on reflection. Or do?!

start off by thinking about the good things that have happened that day ? few days. relax think about something neutral, like being away in the wilderness camping for example, use your thoughts on that , if that doesnt work then think about the recent gret times you have had. try not to worry about getting to sleep either

Dark room and put an audio book on low, thst you really have to concentrate to listen to hear the words. Used to work wonders for me to stop the work mind taking over during stressful deadline times

Don’t use your phone after 8pm.

Don’t drink caffeine after 1pm

Read a book for 20/30 mins just before sleep.

Get a white noise machine and listen to a relaxing audiobook to drift off.

You’ll be sleeping like a baby.

Reminder: no phone after 8!

Good luck

I get myself comfy under the duvet then fine tune myself. Assess each limb to feel for pressure or tension & move it slightly until that is minimised or gone. Once relaxed I'm gone in no time at all. It might sound odd, but an arm or leg with muscles tense or propping you up isn't at rest.

That's what I'm doing.. Listening to Dave Grohl 'the storyteller' in bed.. Room is pitch dark.. Well apart from my phone screen

If you have a ton of stuff going round your head write it down on a pad so that you wont forget it because it's out of your head and written down, then dark room with music that relaxes you, get comfy and slow your breathing then close your eyes and start to relax.

Some brilliant tips here! The only thing I’d add is when I have crazy deadlines coming simultaneously on different projects I find it really helpful to sit down before I log off at the end of the work day and write a list of things that need to be actioned while they’re all still fresh in my mind. It allows me to fully switch off work with my laptop. Sweet dreams OP!

So I did the audio book, some regularised breathing, snuggled under my duvets, finally put my phone down, tested my pressure points (genius) and all in all I had a pretty decent sleep

When you pick up your phone when you wake up in the night, you’re training yourself to wake up.

Magnesium and vitamin D

Meditation apps when going to sleep

Breathing exercises
