I have noticed that often the views on many things that I read in the forums are at odds with what people say on meets. The vast majority of people I meet rarely, if ever, say they use the forums.

Are there two almost completely separate fab communities that rarely interact?

I think some are perhaps a bit over reliant on the forums as a way of becoming known on here and that takes precedence over actually meeting people

I think there’s a lot of browsers, back in the day when I was on here before and actually met people, it was probably a 50:50 mix of forum users and non-forum users, but the non-users were browsers who messaged me after seeing me on there..

In terms of what people say in public on the forums vs what goes on in private, then honestly, take EVERYTHING people say on the forums with a huge pinch of salt.

Particularly the bits about never cheating or meeting marrieds!

It definitely feels like it. I know if I couldn't use the forums, I'd probably leave the site because there's no way in hell I'd log in to just browse and message women in the hope it gets read and the hope they like me. Sure I've probably become over-reliant on the forums for interaction, but I wouldn't have it any other way

It’s a hard one. When you read the answers of people asking for profile advice much of it says use the forums. Become known.

But then you get called more of a socialite than a meeting swinger

I was unaware of the forum longer than I’ve been on them. Meeting folks was much nicer back then because it was way simpler.

I’ve shagged my quota of forum men and it’s been a blast. But it’s social only now. The ponds too small.

I use the forums as another filter. I don't meet very often due to work and time constraints so the forums are really the only part of the site I use.

As far as public and private thoughts being different, that seems to be a thing on here especially when it comes to the sharing of info which is why I always look for consistency in profiles, pics, forum comments and private messages before I would consider meeting anyone.

No, they're not completely separate communities but it's fun to meet people away from the forums and those who post crap in it. Like anywhere, people talk nonsense - on here it's just a bit more public.

As for views being different, it could be a myriad of things - people might not want to share their views, different mindset and approach to "swinging"...

Anyway, I like meeting forum users. They're not a bad bunch really.

I like this analogy, I sometimes post in a topic that I might have an opinion on or a story to add, but I’m in no way a regular poster. So maybe there’s another dynamic that bridge the gap? Maybe the occasional poster lies somewhere inbeteeen.

People who I’ve talked to online and met is a 50/50 split I guess but I get a few more messages from people who have seen me on the forum and have read my profile so there’s a better chance of carrying on the conversation.

What I would echo is just how important the forum is, from the nocturnal threads, the advice on the lifestyle, the fun introduction games.. all help relative new comers find a way to talk..

Maybe the forum could do with signposting a little better?

I talk on the forums, do I have meaningful conversations here? Maybe not. But Dms, maybe.

But I do know those that don’t use the forums are more likely to show there hand quicker to what they want. They are more direct, and open to talking more. Which is odd really, as they don’t feel the need to use forums.
