First holiday as a single pringle!!

I've been single over 2 years & apart from travelling to Poland for surgery a few times, I haven't had a proper holiday, so I'm looking at booking a horse riding holiday in Andalucia & going alone! It's 6 days & fully itinerised with riding & sightseeing etc...I'm not at all worried about doing stuff alone, but it's a lottery as to who else will be on the trip at the same time

What other holidays have people had as a singleton?

I'm keen to hear experiences

Well done for going for it! I've been single over a year and haven't even contemplated going on holiday on my own. Aren't there holiday companies that cater for singletons? At least then you know other singles will be on the same holiday.

I love holidaying on my own

My favourites have been,

Tulum in Mexico;

7 days sailing down the Nile (Luxor to Aswan return);

Italy, flew into Pisa and flew out of Naples 3 weeks later. Had hotel for first night then winged it (by train/bus) through Florence, Rome, Ostia, Capri, Herculaneum.

I’d add, The only set group of people holiday was Egypt and being on a boat. After 3 days I asked my cabin crew where I could hide, as I just wanted alone time as confined to the boat the whole day. He found me the perfect spot and I had 8 hours bliss watching Egypt pass me by.

For some reason the other passengers, although they meant well, couldn’t grasp that a single person could be on their own, want to do things on their own and must always need company.

Although the only trip I’ve managed to get on my own was 3 months travelling around SE Asia in my 30s, I can totally relate to this! Also love Ostia and usually go at least once a year to visit family (amazing beaches ).

I'd much rather do that in my own company than miss out on the experience altogether. Imagine the places you wouldn't have seen as a result? I have a week off coming up at the end of May and strongly considering a week away on my lonesome. Map on a dartboard time!

I've been on lots of solo holidays and really enjoy it. I go on "normal" holidays, not singles only but some hotels or boats have big tables where solo travellers can choose to dine together rather than on their own if they wish

Hi OP. Having been single for years I've holidayed alone a lot. Never done a "singles" holiday though, as wouldn't wanna be stuck with a weirdo

I've been to Malta and Tunisia and Italy and lots of UK based weekends. My only issue is having to pay full price for the hotels

Do it ! As you said, why miss out on some experiences & sights because you are alone.

Personally I love the freedom of it, plan my rough day ahead the night before, as in the area I want to visit, any transport timings. Then I can take as long or as little doing each thing as I like, eat when I want and if I choose just sit & take it all in.
