Going to fairgrounds in your teens

Heard a old school song earlier, on a ragga tip!

And it reminded my of my teenage years when the fair used to come local, all the music lot of the prodigy, SL2, chaka demus... And the rides! I was a waltzer gal

What's your favourite fairground or theme park ride?

I used to love the Waltzer, the first time I went on one was on a holiday in Scotland when I was about 10.

I remember the tune playing was Jazz and the plastic population, the only was is up.

Visiting the fair when we were teens was a right of passage. It's were a smoked my first cigarette, drank cider met girls and had my vist snoog!

Anytime I hear Hot Chocolate, I believe in miracles, it transports me back to those nieve innocent days...

Waltzers when my pal was on them.. we always got extra spins... great fun when you took unsuspecting friends on... also the pirate ship... basically an enormous swing... so much fun

Absolutely loved the fair! Waltzers & that wheel contraption that spun really fast, pinned you to the side & the floor slid away!!! Happy days & unsavoury teenage boys

All I know is fairground are still like a time warp into the 90s. The artwork, the ladies sexualised and portrayed in the art work and the music. Plus now a lot of the kids are rediscovering 90s fashions. Just like my youth again, except for the prices

Wasn't a huge fan of fairs but one time I was at the fair, one of those huge power lines that run the rides went up in flamed.

I couldn't believe it when one of the workers stamped out the flames, then dragged the burned but under the ride so it was hidden by a curtain.

Amazed he didn't get a shock.

I was partial to the Log Flume down Barry Island as I fancied the fella who worked it.

There was a ride that you started off going around and around in and it would get higher and higher and faster and then you would be going up and over (so you were upside down). I enjoyed that one.
