Is it wrong that for one day I want my so called best mate to stop thinking about herself and actually give me a bit of support!

Its the anniversary of my dad's death today, 8 years. I mentioned that I was feeling down and what today was and her response was just oh its 22 years since my grandad died I must see my nan today. I felt angry that she didn't t least say i'm thinking you then mention her grandad.

Am I just being to selfish about it?

No, I dont think you're being selfish - I infer from your writing that you have been there for her in the past and that you hoped for some reciprocation of support when you need it.

Thanks all x I worked the night shift and was fine till I was at the bus stop crying like an idiot! I started to wonder then if I had upset her or was I being selfish which made me cry more!!!!!!

I'm too soft and caring for my own sake!

It's always nice to receive support when you need it so I don't think your being selfish. I always worry about others and how there feeling never about me.

A hug for you on this day no matter how long ago it was it still affects you x

I was there for her only last month when she was crying her eyes out over her boyfriend hitting her!

Hope your day isn't all bad memories.

Think of the good times, memories and smile!!

And you are NOT too soft, just a caring person, who deserves a much better friend!

Nope. I feel like this sometimes. I am always there for my friends to support them yet when I am feeling down I often feel alone. Even my ow. Family have made me feel like that to at times.

Maybe some f the problem s I expect everyone to be like me. Or that I don't express my feelings very easily.

.

I found this when my Mum died, hope it brings you some comfort

If my Father could have spoke to me before he died

These are the words he would have said,

Weep not for me and courage take

And love each other for my sake

maybe she doesnt understand because losing your grandad isnt quite so bad as losing your dad.

i dont remember what day it was when my parents died, my dad died about 8 years ago and my mum 12 years ago but i still miss them, and my dads birthaday was in november, so that makes me feel a bit sad too.
