"Paris and Venice"

Both places that need to avoid the tourist traps. I was lucky enough to be hosted by locals and did really enjoy but not sure would have done as much otherwise

Although Southend on Sea will take some beating...I never thought i'd witness anywhere that made Blackpool look classy

"Paris and Venice"

Spent a day in Paris when I was young. First city anywhere I'd ever seen. Flew into Orly in the morning and caught overnight train out to the Alps.

It put me off Paris and the thought of any european city for life.

Never had the slightest inclination to see or smell Venice but I passed nearby once.

"London. "

Hated London when I first came to study. Couldn't find a dirtier noisier more scummy place on earth.

Gradually came to terms with the place over 23 years of working for its education service but now would be more than happy not to set foot in the place.

That has been made easier by its 'sad dick' of a mayor not making my diesel vehicle welcome!
