"I try to avoid it to be honest. I've moved on and left behind mainly bad memories." Same but family there, they come here usually as it's a bit nicer than Bognor Regis ![]()

"Where you were born I'm 50/50 on it tomorrow, think will do me good to see family and friends but at the same time I'm feeling a bit meh mentally and don't know if I'd rather just stay home. Anyway, who else that's moved away from where they were born still travels back now and then? I'm still here for personal reasons but when I don't need to be it's adios amigos and I'll never be looking back. Happy early bday and must say 50 wow." I think it's nice to have a change of scenery, I can't stand being in noisy towns anymore. You misread what I wrote, I said I'm 50/50 to go or not ![]()

"No, I live about 4 miles from where I grew up. Only really left London for uni. Quite envious of those of you who have upped sticks and tried somewhere completely new (obviously not if for sad reasons, and not trying to trivialise any of those experiences), and have a home town to go back to! (And I know it's never too late - work's kept me in London largely, but post-Covid ways of working might change that!)" I wouldn't mind living close to London but I'd have to be far enough away for it to still feel like I was in the middle of nowhere. You just got to do whatever suits you really and covid had definitely changed a lot of things

Its like the the league of gentlemen sometimes when you're speaking to people. You're not local are you, yeah you don't know me as I'm private and don't care about your business and you don't need to know mine

I'm sure I'll try somewhere new some day...as you say, just hasn't suited up to now, but I guess there's never a perfect time! Hope you enjoy your trip home, even if you're in two minds!

"I like going back to everywhere I've lived. Good or bad it's all part of me thought the place I was happiest is also the one I've visited least, probably because I can never recapture that time." Can bring back good and bad memories though, that's one of the things I really don't like about going back

"Piscean, you've reminded me that I really struggle with the question "where are you from?" I reply back with "I live in XYZ" but never use the term "I'm from...." Because, I'm not from anywhere, I don't think. I'm not even from my Grandparents place anymore (the only constant place/address) because they're no longer with us. PS: Not in a bad way, I'm just musing. " You're from wherever you first lived I guess

"I go back often as my parents still live there. It’s not for me though as it’s a small town with a small town mentality. It seems as though no one has any ambition for anything" Sounds like Bognor Regis
