So got a message about doing cam, the pic that was sent was from 2016. How many of yous have this happen or they send pics of the Internet. Have you ever met someone and they weren't anything like their pics?

Happens loads on here.

I’ve seen people that look nothing like their pics.

I personally don’t get it if you genuinely want to meet people. Surely it just sets yourself up for a fall……

I know and I find it so strange when they do stuff like that, here's my pic and the camera is covering my face and it's been uploaded six years ago

I find people rarely look like their pictures, even blokes, with the angles it's taken from, etc. I matched with someone on Tinder who I'd known for 20 years and didn't recognise from his pictures.

Lol I'm talking about the ones that send other people's pics or ones that are years old, obviously your going to look different as you age

Erm.......

We have photos on our profile older than that.

They're still us.

No fish involved.

Anything with a filter for me, not the sparkly ones (although weird choice for any adult), just perfect skin types. Often makes the pictures look nothing like the real thing.

We met a guy once and his profile pic was him but must have been taken when he was celebrating the moon landing

No the pic he sent is the same as his profile pic and in the message it shows it was uploaded in 2016, I said how many get messages like this and people sending pics of the Internet.

Would you message someone a six year old pic when you've up-to-date pics on your profile or even private ones

The worst I've had were pics that were - presumably - very old, as they could have been assumed to be the parent of the profile holder. Or they were the victim of some unfortunate life experiences/medical issues etc, that caused catastrophic ageing.

It can be quite a breathtaking shock, when you realise that the person you're meeting is in fact the actual profile user

Thankfully, only ever happened to me the once. Turned up at blokes place and he looked nothing like he portrayed himself in his profile. Did a quick turn on heels and walked away.

Thank you sis.

Unfortunately, it’s charlatans like that who seem to spoil it for others on this site; who are simply looking for nsa fun...

"Half you girls are cat fishes, or deluded!! ???? honestly "

trick of perspective, is not the same as an out and out lie - at least with us gurls what you read/see in profile is what you get.

not like some guy pretending to be smart in build/appearance and on meetings turns out to be anything but...!

I've met someone who looked nothing like their picture. I mean, it was them, but about 10 years old and really gave a false impression of what they now looked like.

I don't get it.

I met someone who's photos made it kinda hard to tell what they looked like but I got a somewhat clear face picture and when we met, I was attracted to him. He started uploading more pictures though that were very obviously not him including a 6 pack picture from the internet. I asked him about it and he deleted the picture and denied knowing what I was talking about. It put me off him.

You’re deluded if you think ladies want to see a dick hanging over an open toilet

It’s getting more and more common to turn up to date/socials much heavier then you’ve portrayed in your pictures.

It’s happened a fair few times now.

Plus old face pics with filters making them look 10 years younger than they really are

It’s a real problem

That's the beauty of being Shrek with a ginger beard, everybody knows it has to real. Who would want to fake that?

It’s not just females who “catfish” by any stretch.

Guys “death gripping” cocks and using very very flattering angles (usually shot from underneath) to make their dicks look big and commenting that they’re “hung”, breathing in and standing in a certain way to make them look a lot lighter/more buff. I’ve even seen guys with dog ear type Snapchat filters or filters that just look fake (very blue eyes etc). Luckily it’s very obvious and I insist on a video call before meeting anyone.

This is why I only meet engage people with a video call.

Everyone has a smart phone / pad / pc etc no excuse to not access a live camera for a 5min vid call and everyone sees everyone .

I view it simply if people can’t do a simple veri call like this then it’s almost certain they won’t physically meet either. So no loss there if they decline

Agreed I was talking about a guy.

I've also met a guy who's fit and hung, but puts up pics that aren't his and I'm like why.
