After just yapping in private message to a talented musician it got me thinking.. who else has music talents and would make up part of the virtual Fab Forum Band?

We need musicians, dancers, creative directors, stage production team, pyrotechnics, promotions.. come on people all join in and be apart of it.

Id have voted for Soapy on lead vocals after hearing his karaoke performance but he's left again

I'll put myself forward for sound engineering and making the eventual band sound good via a mixing desk lol

I play the Piano ala Les Dawson - although he intentionally hit the wrong notes, I manage to do it without meaning to.

Playlist could include "We don't have to take out clothes off (to have a good time but it helps)" by Jermaine Stewart (I think) and "Gang Bang" a cover version of the famous BA Robertson song from the late 70s early 80s.

There are make your own theramin kits on ebay and I'm often tempted."

we bought one of those it wasnt great, ive had a go one a really good one and they are easier to use, but really, unless you're Hawkwind you cant use them much! x

Depends on the amp in question.

If its a proper tube amp, then sure, I can rebuild and service them. If its a transistor/modelling/digital amp, then put it in the bin and buy a new one...

Depends on the amp in question.

If its a proper tube amp, then sure, I can rebuild and service them. If its a transistor/modelling/digital amp, then put it in the bin and buy a new one..."

alas cant afford a nice tube amp at the mo, so its a digital one i'm trying to save from the bin to tide me over.

I will add a nice one to the shopping list for my share of the royalties when the fab band goes global lol

Sadly, most digital amps (Line6 etc) aren't really servicable as much of the preamp is software based (the amp models and effects). They just run through a solid state (transistor) poweramp.

You can buy kits to build your own tube amps, they're a couple of hundred quid (for an 18watt Marshall SLP clone, you will not believe how loud an 18watt tube amp is, I've gigged with one!!) but worth the investment. They're fun to build too, just be carefull, the capacitors inside the amp store huge voltages that can kill if not discharged correctly.
