Either Brotherhood of Man, or classical music.

Not a fan of either.

We’ve got some classic dancehall tunes on. Or some classic reggae tunes. And he’s singing along. His voice is annoyingly good. Annoying because you’re embarrassed but still impressed.

The good old days. Fuck him though.

I escaped that torture, coming from a work less and car less household.

But, in a parallel universe it would have been some redneck drawl. C&W, no thanks, I'll pedal or take the bus and train instead.

"It would be radio city, as the cars were too old to have a cassette deck."

My dad’s van didn’t even have a radio until my mum bought him one for a birthday present.

Would have been early seventies. I don’t remember him listening to anything other than Radio 2 on it, music wise, but I do remember the shipping forecast, which must have been R4?

His music tastes were 40s/50s mainly. He liked Sinatra, Dean Martin, Alma Cogan, big band stuff.

He’d have been 100 this month, but he’s been gone a long time now. Nearly forty years. I miss him greatly even now.
