What do you do when you arent ok?

Are you good at recognising it and changing your mindset?

Do you wallow and wait for it to pass?

Do you speak to people?

I sometimes try and reach out to somebody if something is up, I mostly find i’m there for people but when I need someone they aren’t about when I need them. Not always but for the most part.

How are you? Do you need a chat? Hope you are ok. I’m a good listener of you want to drop me a message. Hugs. Xxx

Usually let time pass and then a clearer picture forms. Mostly as time passes one realises the problem wasn’t has big and as bad as initially thought.

Are you okay?

That is very kind, thank you.

I tend to think I'm OK then bam! I'm not, but it's too late. Hope you find someone to be there for you next time x

You are correct but it can also be the other way around.

No, I'm not ok, which isn't easy to say but I will be soon, I'm sure x

I wallow for a while, I lose weight as I don't eat properly and I find comfort in old sitcoms that I have seen 500 times over.

I allow myself to wallow a bit and almost enjoy low times now. Reduce my schedule and take my foot off the gas. It’s the only time I get to iron, watch old movies, read novels

Oh it’s ok, I’m not completely stuck, I do have people but just feel sometimes at the lowest points or when it’s been a bad day a chat is all you need.

Take care. XXX

I pay attention to what I'm feeling and what could be up. I speak with friends if I'm struggling or seek the appropriate help and support.

If necessary, I stop everything else, so that I get it addressed. There's no time like the present to stop things in their tracks.

Tend to sleep on it and if I need to share it with an understanding friend have a chat over coffee.

Writing down my thoughts and feelings can help too.

Get d*unk and then hit the gym.

Even though I'm extremely body conscious, I still go and do half an hour on the cross trainer and 10k on the rowing machine just to get some cardio done.

Other than incredible sex or scoring the winning goal in a football match, leaving the gym after a good session is the best feeling after any activity.

I read the other day- the first step to anything, is understanding

Understand what got me there in the first place.... it goes a long way

Hope that helps in some way

On a mooch

I write it out, get all the thoughts out of my head. Just let them flow into a letter that never gets delivered.

Then a long walk, camera in hand to completely zone out, always makes me smile.

Occasionally I will share to another but only if it comes up in conversation, rare I reach out to offload, that is what the writing is for.

I’m lucky most things don’t effect me now for more than a day at the most, I’ve learnt how to deal, file, block & move on…… Tomorrow is another day

I have had a rough time mentally for last several weeks having suffered on & off for years..

I have a good understanding of it, & can usually cope, however this time it nearly beat me..

However after doing a lot of research online the issues that made me feel this way were not of my doing...I now realise I was not to blame & did nothing wrong, just got manipulated into a situation.

I knew I hadn't done anything wrong & the online help clarified this for me..so on the road to recovery again..

Currently in this place. I usually do a lot of the things I’ve been taught to do which helps. Being able to speak to someone (thanks to having a long term partner) helps as well. Being proactive is the best thing but occasionally i cba and just wait around and hope it’ll get better. .

Depends the reasons for not being ok really, if it’s something within my control I try to fix it,

I recognise my mindset but don’t change it quick enough, I normally give myself a mental slap…

I don’t share my problems well as I don’t want to be a burden

I do hope your ok though OP, remember tomorrow is a new day.

Mostly I work things out in my own head before discussing it with others. I have learnt the changes and triggers by now so it's easier to manage when I see it coming. Whatever your feeling it's important to feel, don't supress things that will resurface when your at your lowest point.

Sounds as if you're in cycle of anxiety best to see a doctor..

I wallow in self pity. But not for long.

I’m very mindful at the moment and I hope it doesn’t change. I’m more in tune with my feelings than I have ever been in my life and I hope this stays.

I recognise things that bother me, but if I can’t change them, or it’s me that had the problem, I know can change my attitude about it.

Like a f’kin Jedi.

I’ve always been mentally strong , I had just forgotten how much.

I worry I’ve been ‘ok’ for too long and one day it will all catch up.

For now I just crack on because there is so much to do.

I generally just re-focus, support others and remind myself it always works out in the end

It's kind of a mix, I guess.

It's important for me to speak to people if I'm getting to the not-ok stage.

But it's equally important to simplify things, which usually means taking myself away from like, my phone and stuff.

I think both work equally, really

One thing I did realise and I think helped me, was I’ve always been one lending advise. And being there for other.

For the first time I laid my burden on a close friend this year.

The way I saw him support me just by listening was a revelation on how I should listen to myself and not berate myself.

Its a mix

I allow myself to feel it, as I like to believe it’s an important process to feel stuff whether good or bad

If it’s bad, I’ll try distract myself with friends and speak to my bestie

Also therapist helps if it continues to be something I recognise that is bugging me. Reminds me… I need to get some sessions in

Unfortunately, last time i was having a really bad time i was in denial about it. Didnt tell anyone how i was feeling and tried to deal with it on my own. That did not end well at all.

I would hope that i would not do the same if i start feeling really down again. Thankfully i now have some really good friends who have had similar experiences and understand.

To anyone who is feeling low atm, please find someone to talk to, even if its a stanger on a helpline, it is incredible how much that can help. Sending love to all. X

Sleep.... A LOT

I had a day off yesterday which entailed a 5 hour "nap" and the only reason I made myself get up was because I was worried I wouldn't sleep during the night. Still had a full 9 hours only 5 hours after my "nap"

"What do you do when you arent ok?

I check-in with myself regularly and listen to my body - it’s usually telling me if something isn’t right. If I identify something that’s making feel “not ok”, I will try and deal with it by either making adjustments in attitude, beliefs, changing expected outcomes, or whatever. Recently I wasn’t sleeping well and I realised it was being caused by low-level anxiety created by some things going on at my office - so I set up meetings with those involved in a situation and talked it all out.

In short, when something doesn’t feel right, I take action to make it feel better.

La la land

Depends on the cause of it.

For example I have an anniversary of a traumatic event next week. Which is playing on my mind a bit. I acknowledge it and I'm trying to be gentle with myself. I've also warned the people I love that it's approaching so at least they understand why I'm a bit distant.

If I'm just not right, with unknown reasons. I'll try and do something I know calms me, be it a bit of sewing or a walk.

Hope you're ok OP x

I try to recognise why I’m feeling what I am, what the emotion is connected to and what the trigger is. If I can manage it, then I do. If not then I look at ways to mitigate the impact on myself and how to move forwards.

It can be a long process at times.

Pick myself up, give my head a wobble and think about what I want and put my all into that.

Life’s about following what you truly want and not giving up on that.

Forward thinking, dedication and knowing what you want has a good chance of making you truly happy is a must. X
