Go Pro Cameras

Chelmsford

At a roundabout this morning I stopped at a roundabout with no cars in sight but a cyclist with a Go Pro type helmet on his helmet the size of a jet engine. His neck muscles must be like Garth ... He kept gesticulating at me when he judged it safe for me to proceed. I make my own decisions on the road. Now I am no fan of these entrapment cyclist types and I overtook when I judged it safe giving several meters of room.

I wonder if they goad motorists into unsafe manouvres and then post the footage on the net.. stay wise to these tricks...

This is a very good point. How many of these drop handle bar lycra types with cameras have bells fitted. Very few I will wager...

I personally find these cams wether on cars or anywhere else a ridiculous thing and should not be really avaible They feel intrusive and just another thing to make our lives more complicated than need to be. Another inappropriate use of technology in the hands of people who have nothing better to do. My opinion, but then what do I know? I am just a simple soul

It's entrapment pure and simple by some of these buggers . Same as these people who leave their pushpikes on the front lawn and look at the footage the next day. Just lock up your belongings people's

So when you run him over, cut his helmet off his head and nick the camera.

I always wondered what that bulge was in their Lycra shorts…. Now I know, go pros on their helmets.

Are they the male equivalent of wonderbras?

"Should these cameras be either licenced or banned ?"

Neither.

I love my dashcam and have posted some hilarious footage over the years, helped Avon & Somerset's finest prosecute some absolute fucknuggets, help little old ladies avoid being scammed by insurance fraudsters as well as discovering who has reversed into my car in supermarket car parks.

I also have an action cam that's used for certain sporting activities.

They're invaluable tools. So no - they shouldn't be banned and the only things I believe should (and are over a certain size) be licenced are drones.

I bet someone flies one over your jouse regularly Tom - I'd be more worried about what they see through your bedroom window than enything else.

A

Just get an EMP device fitted and blip the buggers.

They bike helmet fucknuggests are a menace to society!

And they don’t even pay road tax! The fookin cheeky gits!

Should be legal to run them over!

Are you suggesting that it's fine to steal things if they're not secured well enough?

Realistically, there are very few adult cyclists who don't also have a car, so they ARE paying "Road Tax". Personally, I'm paying on a van and a motorbike, so when I'm on my pushbike I have twice as much right to the road as your standard car owner.

A pushbike would be charged the same amount of "Road Tax" as all the electric cars... £0

I am a cyclist and a car driver. I ride sensibly and considerately of all other road users, but can see why cylcists get a bad name sometimes. I saw someone today riding on a narrow road with a massive queue of traffic behind them when there was an empty and perfectly good 2way cycle lane on the other side!
