For the last couple of years on and off I've suffered from a really itchy bum hole. Anyone else going to admit to the same problem? And no, its not worms!!! Drives me mad when it strikes and I must have tried every cream in Tesco. Your suggestions of a cure please...

Go to the doctors, it could be piles.

"Go to the doctors, it could be piles."

Yes it does... They don't always have to be visible, could.be internal.

Hope you get sorted

In Your Bush

A liberal smearing of treacle or golden syrup will stop the piles rubbing together when you walk down the road. This will help relieve your symptoms.

Watch out for Jack Russel's though

little house on the praire

This was on embarressing bodies the other week. Apparently the guy had it for about 20 years. They checked and it was raw and inflamed but put that down to scratching. He had to break the habit of scratching it, they gave him some cream, and got him to break the cycle.

Thanks everyone for your replies. The problem is more in the porch area rather than the actual back door so I was thinking it was more a skin problem rather than piles! I reckon the main problem is I keep scratching which makes it worse. I think I need to anesthetise my arse for a week to break the cycle!

On the link I posted there is info re it could be a skin condition, however as I said to start you really should go to the doctors and get it checked

I do sometimes find the corner of a desk comes in handy for a sly scratch!

BOLTON

Someone I know had this problem. At first the gp diagnosed an anal fissure which was treated with a steroidal cream but the itch persisted. Then the gp said it was thrush and to use Canestan, which can be bought over the counter at pharmacies. The problem hasn't gone away completely but the canestan does bring relief from the itch. Definitely go to your gp though and good luck. Hope you get to the bottom of it (no pun intended)

Next time you go to the GUM clinic for a check-up tell them about it.... they don't just deal with STD's.

It could very well be an autoimmune disorder, which can be easily treated.

I forgot to say... when your Gp runs out of guesses, they will only refer you to the GUM anyway... so cut out the middle man and go to the experts.
