How trimmed is trimmed?

I like to rock a landing strip and always make sure I am vey smooth around the sides.

I usually keep the strip fairly trimmed but recently have let it grow and I think it looks good as it is thicker. The question is how much to actually shave the strip?

I’d class it as short but long enough for hairs to lie flat. I doubt there’d be much love for a prickly pubic thatch.

Trimmed really means it’s maintained/groomed to a length that you want

I mean how thick should the hair grow. I tend to run the strip about an inch wide and have, historically, cut the remaining hair quite short - around a grade 3. It is currently still an inch wide (I shaved the sides this morning) but is now quite bushy.

Does that make sense?

When I say “should” I really mean what preferences do people have. I know I am a grown up and can actually make those decisions myself
