It's World Tapir Day

Tapirs look a little like pigs or anteaters, but they’re related to horses and rhinos. These interesting animals have been around for millions of years. Their fossils have been found all over the world, but today tapirs live in only a few places. Baird’s tapir lives in Mexico and Central America. The Brazilian tapir lives in the rain forests of Brazil. Mountain tapirs live in the cold mountain areas of Northern South America, while the Malayan tapir lives in Asia.

Happy World Tapir Day.

One of the Tapir's sold the biggest Rosewood in the Amazon for a lot of money the other day Jim.

It's all part of life's rich Tapir's tree.

Tapirs are among the most primitive mammals on Earth, having changed very little over the past 20 million years or so. The first fossil evidence of tapirs dates back to the Early Oligocene Epoch.
