I tend to find relying on laylines the better way to navigate when ashore. Don't suppose you live on on Little 1?

"Thank you to all have who contributed and given advice, it's sincerely appreciated... I've got a lot of sound advice to go on now. I must admit I'm tempted with the devices/packages that come with free updates for the lifetime of the product. " And a map

"We have had TomTom, Navman and Garmin. The only one I would never buy again is Garmin. The Navman broke when I dropped it but that was good a good sat nav. Had to get rid of the TomTom as you couldn't put US maps on it in time for when I needed them. The Garmin loves single lane dirt tracks over normal roads and everytime I use it to go on the motorway network it routes me up slip roads then back down again. And the traffic is rubbish compared to TomTom. Complained about the slip road issue and was told to read the disclaimer in the manual and that they didn't guarantee it would get you where you were going " Well that's ruled the Garmen out, thank you for warning me
