Nerdgasm!

I've just received my 30th anniversary Bladerunner blueray boxset and I'm in nerd nirvana.

Anyone else a fan of the movie or novel by Phillip K Dick?

Does anyone else get excited by these kinds of things?

Oh dear God, yes!

I got the DVD anniversary tin set so I only bought the Blue-Ray Final Cut. It is a sublime film - though I worry at Scott's plan to film a sequel / prequel to it after the unfortunate experience what was 'Prometheus'.

I have 'Nerdgasms' all the time!

When you say 'full' Supernatural Box set, how many seasons?

Seasons 1 through 5 are some of the best TV, with season 5 on its own is an excellent example of 'story-arc' TV writing at its best.

Sadly subsequent seasons haven't been as good, IMHO.

I'm hoping he doesn't do a sequel, Ford and Young have aged a little too much to make it believable. A prequel would be much better, the story of Roy Batty and the other Replicants. Maybe we'd find out if Deckard really is a Replicant too...

Bladerunner is probably my favourite or second favourite film of all time.

After watching that for the first time was when I developed my fetish for having sexy with androids.

So I a have regular orgasms and nerdgasms at it.

There's a huge difference between the original, theatrical version and the final cut version. It's worth rewatching.

I'm a fan of the film and the book. I've got the original and directors cut and think the latter the best, without HF's narration.

I'm always moved by Rutger Hauer's Tears in the Rain monologue. Particularly as in the directors cut, without the narration, once its over they raise the sound level on the rain and you have this wonderfully sad moment.

I'll get my anorak.

You'll probably be absolutely horrified to learn that I've never seen Bladerunner. Not even a little bit.

MY business partners brother is a certified Bladerunner geek though and has every English speaking boxset thats ever been released. He just about combusted when I told him my secret confession! Lol!

You know much of that scene was ad-lobbed. Rutger Hauer came up with most of that on the spot. It's a cinematic masterpiece.

I don't have blu-ray but I do have the Blade Runner DVD set in the tin. I can't remember how many different versions there are in it butI think it might be 5.

Awesomeness at it's most fabulous.

Is the 30th anniversary set available on DVD? Never mind, I'm off to investigate.

You are correct, it is indeed 5 versions.

It's incredible to think that, at the time of release, it was a huge flop and during its production they lost funding twice.

Nope

Anything vaguely sci-fi or techy leaves me totally underwhelmed.

I am the friend that everyone laughs at when the mobile comes out.

I am the friend that looks dazed and confused when people start discussions about Star Wars and the like.

A lot of excellent sci-fi suffers from that difficulty.

I give you Firefly, for example.

Most people I know think its crap, I just think they've missed the point.

I need to hunt it down on blueray if its available...

the obvious aside ( great performances by Harrison ford / Rutger haur / Originality of the film) so ahead of the curv in terms of fully formed dystopian futuristic cityscapes being realized in such an immersive fully formed fashion!

The Vangelis soundtrack is also well composed and perfectly matched to the film...

I'm a member of a Bladerunner group on soundcloud. We compose and record music inspired by the film (yes, I'm an uber-nerd!). Much of it follows the Vangellis original. I'd post a link but I don't think its allowed.

The thing with Bladerunner (for me) is the questions it asks. Reality vs fake, organic vs synthetic and do we have the right to play god.

Best of Both Worlds, Part One. Possibly one of the finest hours of television ever made and one of the best season cliffhangers ever done by an American Tv series.

Most 'nerdy' I got was over

'Xena: Warrior Princess' absolutely loved it. I even did the Starfury convensions although that was mainly to meet Bruce Campbell and Ted Raimi so they could sign my Special Edition 'Evil Dead II' metal box set

Karl Urban is incredibly sexy in real life! He was the only one who got me all flustered

Happy Days

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

It's just a bit scary that it's 30 years since Bladerunner. I remember going to the cinema with my first proper boyfriend to watch it. We then had to buy it as soon as it came out on video.

So, do androids dream of electric sheep?
